Anybody see the other alpha gameplay? When you died, you needed to recover your backpack to reclaim items. Could this be an afk deterrent? I wonder what times were lost

  1. That would kinda suck imo tbh, if someone else could take your stuff no one would take good items to missions, and if they did they would play extremely carefully.

Or imagine you are on your ssd and on your last few seconds a taker gets you. There goes all of your backpack.

  2. It didn’t work as a deterrent, AFKs didn’t have an inventory 9/10 times. They changed it to equipment durability later on but again same thing, AFKs still weren’t affected.

  3. The issue became that it only punished legitimate players and afkers are uneffected.

When you had durability loss on death all afkers did was unequip everything; same concept with this as a deterrent, they will just deposit any valuables into storage before afking of they even care to begin with.

  4. Why would this deter afkers? They would just load into a new game and beg for more shit.

Or not die and claim they did and beg for more shit.

This is a player deterrent. This mechanic is garbage and was garbage in every game it’s been in.

  5. Easy anti-afk, just add a vote kick.

If afker votes, it fails. If someone votes against, then you need majority or it fails. (2 v 1, with the 4th vote being the afk)

The vote lasts a minute and is really obvious on the afker’s screen.

  6. Don’t work.

The AFKer will protect himself and… all OK again.

In a city map, for example, its easy: they will just go up in a house or any building and… done!

In another kind of map: just make a 1x1x1 box and done.
